About

I am a PhD candidate at the University of Kentucky. I work on the concept of causality. I think Hume's solution to the problem of causation is insufficient and Kant's reply is quite misleading. I try to reconstruct an occasionalist solution to this problem by benefiting from Malebranche and the Ash'arite tradition in Islamic philosophy. In my dissertation, I critically examine the Islamic and modern roots of occasionalism and aim to show how sophisticated this theory is on the basis of the historical contribution to this theory that has been ignored so far.
